After an embarrassing game 1 by the Cardinals with 3 errors and only one run, they look to redeem themselves in game 2 when they send their ace Michael Wacha to the mound. 3-0 in the postseason, Wacha has a .43 ERA and a 22-4 (K-BB).
John Lackey takes the mound at 2-0 this postseason with an ERA of 3.00. The redeemed Lackey pitched outstanding in the League Championship Series verses Verlander and the Tigers. Starting the season as the Red Sox’s scapegoat, Lackey has made a name for himself this postseason and takes center stage tonight to once again show off what he can do.
After the performance by the Cardinals last night, it will be interesting to see if they will be able to pull of a key road win tonight. The 4-1 rookie Wacha, has only 15 games under his belt but has been a phenom from the start. An ERA of 2.78 this season with 65 SO is quite impressive and I think that if he can prevent Big Papi from getting comfortable in the batters box he will win the game.
